Fishing: Enjoy fishing for wild brown and rainbow trout as well as salmon in the highland lakes, streams and rivers which cover many areas of south Tasmania or enjoy one of the many local fisheries.


Horse riding: Horse riding is available close by for all ages and experience. By appointment only.

Vineyards: Experience world-class cold climate wine tasting in beautiful picturesque vineyards offering cellar doors with a diverse menu featuring fresh Tasmanian local produce.

Fruits in season: Enjoy apples (all year round), cherries and other soft berry fruits (Dec-Jan) raspberries (Dec-May), Nectarines, peaches & pears (Feb-Mar), Strawberries (Nov-May).

Picnics & BBQ's: Take advantage of the varied picnic and BBQ areas available in the National Parks and world heritage areas on your way to striking attractions such as the Tahune Forest Airwalk & Heritage Centre, Hastings Caves & Thermal Springs.

Hiking & Bushing walking: Enjoy all levels of hiking, trek through Hartz Mountain and Mt Fields National parks or stay for a leisurely stroll around the locate area on well established tracks.

Arts & crafts: Experience the numerous arts and crafts of Tasmania such as the unique and native Huon Pine woodcrafts, pottery, silks and blown glass creations.

Country Shows: Enjoy the popular 'Taste of Huon' in autumn and the 'Huon Show' in spring.
